Marcablo 18215
Product description:
Ink for electrical cables
Inks for Printing on Silicone Rubber
Inks for printing on silicone rubber of insulated electrical cables produced by FARBWERKE HERKULA SA/AG.
Marcablo marker inks developed specifically for gravure printing are solvent-based and are suitable for all printers on the market.
This printing technique is also known as Gravure Wheel Printing or Direct High-Speed-Printing and makes it possible to print letters, numbers or any kind of symbol by means of the gravure wheel (gravure wheel) that takes ink from the reservoir and applies it to the substrate.
The 18215 series is available in all international color shades, e.g., according to RAL scale, IEC 304 and also metallic shades.
Upon request, the laboratory can develop a series of tailor-made inks, e.g., for new substrates, new color shades, or different line speeds.
Description and Application
FARBWERKE HERKULA SA/AG's Marcablo 18215 series inks are suitable for gravure wheel (gravure wheel) application and are characterized by excellent adhesion on critical substrates, sharp printing, and high production speed.
For best printing results, marking should be done on a substrate with a temperature around 100 °C, e.g., after the extruder. It is recommended to pre-cool the silicone rubber after extrusion by ambient air or water jet (residual water should be blown off).
Additional heat treatment at 150°C is recommended after printing.
Depending on the insulation, it may be necessary to use a gas flame before and/or after printing.
In addition, the 18215 series is suitable for line speeds of up to 300 m/min.
Chemical and Mechanical Properties.
Ink 18215 has no influence on electrical characteristics, is benzene resistant directly after printing, and fast to abrasion.
The pigments are free of lead and other heavy metals.
Inks in this series of FARBWERKE HERKULA SA/AG gravure printing inks have a shelf-life of 1 year.
In addition, the 18215 series inks are ready-to-use, as they already contain the required amount of thinner.
Thinner 18291 (medium drying) or thinner 18292 (retarding) is used to adjust the viscosity in the machine.
